2014-2015

Stepan

Atamian

Communications Officer

A Comparative Literature major in his junior year at Columbia, Stepan has been an ardent opera lover since his high soprano days. Now a bass-baritone, he specializes in the German and Armenian repertoire. Engagements for the 2014-2015 season include the bass solos in Ethel Smyth's Mass in D and Bach's Matthäus-Passion with the Barnard-Columbia Chorus. He is also the Program Coordinator of the Armenian Society of Columbia University, Education Coordinator for the Gotham Chamber Opera, and a frequent host of 'Saturday Night At The Opera' on WKCR-FM NY. In the past, Stepan has interned at the Metropolitan Opera Archives and has assistant directed Eugene Onegin for the Delaware Valley Opera. If Stepan is not cavorting with Esther and Mounir, he can probably be found at the Met Opera, embracing his back-up plan as the Phantom of the Opera.

Esther

Adams

Production Officer

Esther Adams is a junior at Barnard College, majoring in Ethnomusicology and American Studies. She hails from a small island off the coast of Maine, roughly the same size as Manhattan, but with only 3,000 residents. Like any silly blonde girl from Maine, she came to the big city to be a star. Not really, but she did come to the city to make music with fun, talented, amazing people, and that's exactly what she is doing. Esther is active in the music scene on campus as both a singer and violist. She is a part of Musical Mentors, the Music Performance Program, and has performed with the Barnard/Columbia Chorus and the Bach Society. Esther has been part of the NOW family since the beginning, and is wicked excited to serve on the E-Board for the 2014-2015 season with her pals and cohorts, Stepan and Mounir.
